Alex Trimino: where crochet meets electricity

Miami-based artist Alex Trimino connects the past to the present by mingling organic fibers with neon lights.

Neon Lights, plexiglass tubes, knittings, crochet and found objects! This is what the Colombian artist uses in her luminous artworks, in order to re-contextualize traditional crafts, like knitting, weaving or crochet.

Her luminous installations, which bring traditions and features pertaining to indigenous cultures to a contemporary dimension, become modern artifacts that speak about civilizations and technology.
